JIS Group Educational Initiatives, the largest educational conglomerate in the eastern zone, had a very humble beginning towards fulfilling this dream and today with more than 25 institutes and also the commencement of JIS university, its commitment towards the society that the university has the vision to focus on a policy of consistent quality enrichment education and to promote growth and economic prosperity of the nation.
JIS University Scholarship offers SJSMS scheme to meritorious and financially weak students of the society. The scholarship amount, extending up to 100% on tuition fees of the total course fees, is awarded on the basis of the assessment of prospective candidates by SJSMS Committee. The University awards its scholarship to the students who wish to pursue their studies in various courses at JIS University.

JIS University encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities such as cultural programmes, music, dance, debates, and other competitions like as photography and short filmmaking. All students from different streams can participate in extracurricular activities.
Debates, quizzes and talks: Debates, quizzes, talks are a regular and integral part of the University life and students are introduced to such practices from their very first year of study and to that end students are also encouraged to take part in such activities happening in other places as well. Such activities take place on a weekly, if not daily, basis in the University.
Annual Fest: Every year the Annual fest is organized where the students participate in different cultural programs like music and dance, fashion shows etc and it’s a musical extravaganza worth to participate for the students. Each year Freshers’ Welcome is also organised for the new students as the new session begins where students actively take part in cultural programs and various competitions.
Drama and Photography Clubs: These two clubs have been set up in the University with the sole aim and purpose of honing and encouraging the photography and drama skills of the students. The University actively encourages these skills in the students by organizing regular contests, exhibitions and shows of such drama and photography by the students.
Sports Club: The University also has an up and running sports club to encourage the students to take active part in sports and allied physical activities. Legal Aid Cell: JIS University's Legal Aid Cell is operated and supervised by the Department of Juridical Science, which hosts a variety of seminars and speeches on legal and social issues on a regular basis. No, having a minimum of 50% in bachelors degree is important to be eligible for B.Ed course in JIS University, Kolkata as this is the minimum educational requirement. You need to have these marks in any program from a recognised university. Even if you have 52 marks in your masters degree, you will not be able to apply for the B.Ed course. There might be some relaxation offered for students belonging to different categories.
